Want to Make Money? Forget YouTube.
Tuesday, October 31st, 2006Do you post videos on YouTube? Have you ever thought “this is so much fun! I wish I had this as a job.” Well, now you can!
Revver.com is a video sharing site that shares its revenue with content providers. They claim on the site that they “host your video for free, give you the tools to share it with the world and split the ad revenue with you 50/50.”
They also give money to people that share the videos as affiliates. The sharer or affiliate gets 20% and the remaining cash gets split 50/50 between the creator of the video and Revver.
I imagine that YouTube will head in this direction soon. Especially now that they are owned by Google who was one of the pioneers in ad-revenue sharing. Even though YouTube has a base of video producers that have made videos for the shear joy of making videos, once someone else offers a price people tend to not be so philanthropic.
