Today was my first day at Omniture and I am very excited to start working there. Today was a little slow, however, because I had to go through employee orientation and IT had not set up my computer yet. It’s tough to get anything done in this industry without a computer. Hopefully things pickup quickly.

Here are a few things that I found interesting at Omniture today:

• The conference rooms are named after Adam Sandler movies or after Seinfeld shows
• They have a room dedicated to multi-player computer games. There are 12-16 computers in the room and the place had been modeled to look like a dungeon, complete with torches and a large rotating gun in the middle
• The employee break room (or “living room”) has four Xbox stations up in the rafters and the game is projected onto a huge screen on the opposite wall
• Omniture knows how to throw parties. They recently had a huge paper-rock-scissor competitions with a cruse as the prize and they had a “Back in Black” celebration and covered the entire office in black balloons
• They give out a new-employee gift that has a license plate cover that says “Omniture - Mean People Suck”, a remote-control car, some sort of magnet toy, a leather binder, and an Omniture notepad.
• They have a employee wall of fame that has life-size cardboard cutouts of the employees

It looks like it is going to be a fun place to work. I’m looking forward to it.
