Blackberry Pearl
Today I went shopping for a PDA. I was having a tough time deciding what I wanted because I never had used one before. The big decision was that I didn’t know what I would rather have–a full-size keyboard (good) and bigger overall size (bad) or a compact keyboard (more awkward) and smaller size.
Well, I went with the Blackberry Pearl. It is much smaller than the traditional Blackberry and is very stylish. It has a QWERTY keyboard but, to cut down on size, it has two letters for each key. I have found, though, that the text recognition is quite good. This wont ever let me type as fast as on a normal QWERTY keyboard, but if I am going to be doing some real word processing, then I am going to use a real word processor.
I also found that it will store and play music. That was an unexpected surprise. It looks like I don’t need to buy an mp3 player after all.
The best thing about this phone and other PDAs are the organization tools. It is very nice not to have to wait to get home before I can enter something into my Outlook calendar. I can do it at the instant that I hear about an event.
Overall, the Blackberry Pearl is a very nice PDA. Very nice indeed!
