Using Writely to Blog
While using Writely to collaborate on an industry report that I was writing, I noticed that Writely has an option to publish what you are writing to a blog. I though that I would blog about it and we can experience it together.
You can post your document to a blog by selecting Blog and then Publish post to my blog (see picture below.)
Once you have accomplished this you will then be presented with a form that will request the access information for your blog. I host my blog on my own account so I select My own server / custom, set the APT for MoveableType (I don’t know why,) and enter the URL for the xmlrpc.php file (which is in the directory that you installed Wordpress.) then I entered all of the access information and sent it off.
Problems:
-
The blog title didn’t show up
-
The font changes
-
Removing the post from my blog doesn’t work
-
Can’t categorize my posting
-
If I republish, it just adds another post instead of updating the original post
-
I tried to use the Writely user form but it wouldn’t pull up
I think that I am just going to stick with bloging in Wordpress for a while longer. Using Writely I had to just come back to Wordpress anyway to fix the post.
